Rimbey Christian School

We feel our boys could not have gotten off to a better start with regards to their education. They received excellent one on one support which enabled them to grow  and thrive not only within the school but in their day to days lives.

Getting them to school was no problem they were always very eager and willing to go. This was due to the welcoming atmosphere within the school. Everyone is always treated with respect.

The boys are benefiting greatly from the spiritual knowledge that they are gaining. They are aware of their surroundings and take pride in doing what is right and good.

We would not hesitate to recommend this school to all our friends and acquaintances  inquiring about education.

Thank you.

RCS - Pioneers of the Community

I have always felt like I belonged in a by-gone era; having a romantic notion of small houses and big families; pioneering to create a new life through hard work and old fashioned values.  In those days, families worked and played together. Children respected.  Communities were established by families working together to build churches and schools.   I long for the simplicity of those days when the lines between right and wrong were clear.  When neighbours knew each other, and despite their obvious differences, shared a common thread of beliefs and goals.  As neighbours, they relied on one another to get their work done and to meet many emotional and financial needs.  I had all but given up hope that those days were just recollections of my grandparents; never to be realized again – until I came to Rimbey and then to Rimbey Christian School.  Here I was taken into the folds of a community of families unlike I have ever seen before.  Families working together – a community of modern day pioneers.  Families who share a vision of community based on biblical principals, and together have literally built a school and raised and sent out hundreds of beautiful godly children into the world.

I have been blessed during my time at RCS.  Families at RCS have refreshed my spiritual mind and fortified my faith.  It has been a blessing to speak freely as a Christian in a place of employment and it has been a beautiful thing to hear children praying and singing praises at school.  As a young girl in the 60’s and 70’s I grew up in the public education system where we prayed in the morning and could sing and speak freely about God at school.  Sadly, the public school systems have restricted our freedoms since then.

I is my opinion that RCS offers community-minded education more similar to that which (I believe) Canadian public school systems were originally founded upon.  This makes sense to me.  God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  His principles are Truth and our nation was founded based on these truths.   Sadly, our society has changed.  It is constantly fickle and has shifted the foundation into being dangerously unsteady.  Many families and children have become lost in this system, which has no direction – no true aim.  I believe that the troubles we currently face in society with our families, children and youth are a testament to this.

However, at Rimbey Christian School, the foundation is strong.  It is based on the truth.  The learning is rooted in the principles of the creator of the universe and based on His Word, which is unchangeable.   If you are looking to simplify life and return to the roots of a bygone era in which families work and play together and children respect elders; a place where you are free to speak about God as you wish, then Rimbey Christian School is that place.  It is a place in which you can still witness incredible love and passion for God’s children and a boldness to be unshakeable in the things that you know are right.  Everyone involved at RCS are like pioneers – brave, bold and dedicated; persevering together to build a strong future for their children, and their children’s children.

I shall carry the families of RCS in my heart always and I am blessed for the time I have spent knowing and loving them.

My view on Rimbey Christian School

Since coming to the school for the Open House BBQ in August and asking the question, “How does this school teach Christian Character?” I have found that this school and its teachers, administration staff and education assistants all sincerely model what they teach.  The grounds of the school are neat and tidy, and the interior is orderly and well maintained.  The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming with an eagerness to reach out to all.

Yes, academics are important and a focal point of the teachings; however, I have discovered that the child’s Christian Character is of utmost importance to the staff as well.  From the time the child steps on to the property in the morning until the end of the school day, a staff member is mentoring these active young minds and attitudes with Christ like virtues.  While difference of opinion can and do happen, the interactions are monitored and dealt with effectively, with encouraging Godly advice on how to rectify the situation and what to do in future if placed in the same or similar situation.

In looking for a new school we were, of course, looking for academics and social interaction for our children, but in sending our children to a Christian school, we expected to find Christian ethics.  Praise God that we have found such a place that lives up to its name.  How does the staff at Rimbey Christian School teach Christian Character – by actively being Christian!

Many thanks to the staff, students and other families of the Rimbey Christian School for upholding the high standards of Christian Values in a time where it is not always easy or convenient to do so!

Why Rimbey Christian School

Making the decision to switch our kids to Rimbey Christian School was not an easy one for our family.  Uprooting from a public system, which on the surface has so many more resources and support systems, was a tough choice.  Taking our oldest daughter from her social network wasn’t easy either.  However, as the past year has unfolded, and we see the individual change in my children, as well as the positive impact it has had on our faith and family life, we are more and more convinced that we went down the right path.

First and foremost, becoming part of RCS has meant a huge transformation of “Faith in Action” in our home life.  Previously, the kids viewed observances of our faith/religion as a ‘special event’ or ‘outing’, much the same way that going swimming at the Collicut Centre, or going to a movie at the theatre, was a special treat.  Somehow, faith just wasn’t integrated into our daily routine, and that daily spiritual connection was lost on our family.  Since coming to RCS, we have been elated to witness a 180 degree change.  My heart does little leaps when I walk into the living room to hear the kids singing praises, to hear them reciting memory verses to one another, or asking to pray.  Even our youngest, who doesn’t go to school yet, has picked up on the change.  Yesterday, when she was having a little spat with her sister I heard her wisely say, “Tame your tongue sister, tame your tongue!”  I just smiled to myself and kept on walking…

Smaller class size and more caring, compassionate, individual attention has definitely benefited my oldest daughter’s attitude, work ethic, and resulting grades.   The RCS teachers are creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate.  We have another daughter in Kindergarten and she is truly ‘on fire’ for school, her teacher, and her friends.  What a way for our child to begin a lifetime of enthusiastic learning!!  These observances go a long way to reassuring us that we sacrificed nothing when we left the public school system.  Dozens of parents have questioned our decision and how satisfied we are with the results, and it is easy for me to recommend RCS to them.  What we have gained scholastically, spiritually, and eternally is truly a reward in itself.
