The kindergarten students in the Rimbey Christian School had a great time carving pumpkins with their grade 7 buddies. While they worked Mrs. Greentree, the kindergarten teacher, explained how we are all like pumpkins. She said, "As pumpkins grow in the pumpkin patch they become different shapes and sizes, just as people grow into different heights and sizes. God has made them into what He wants them to be. As Christians we need to take one more step. Because we are human, sin lives in us, which makes us "yucky" inside, just like a pumpkin. When we accept Christ into our life, He cleans all that "yucky stuff" out and makes us clean on the inside. He replaces all the "yucky stuff" with love, patience, faith, gentleness and goodness. Much like a Jack-O-Lantern shines into the night, so our light as Christians, shines all the time. We shine with the qualities of Christ for the world to see."
