Welcome to Fingerprints Playschool. Children leave fingerprints everywhere – on our walls, on our windows and, most importantly on our hearts! Our fingerprints are God’s proof that we are all unique – created in his image, yet each different from all others.

History:

Fingerprints Playschool opened January 2009 to run a play based preschool program. We are licensed through the province of Alberta’s Child and Family Services Authority for children age 3 to 5 years of age. Parents from Rimbey Christian School recognized a need for more child care in the community and the benefits of an in house early childhood service. We are a non-profit organization.

The playschool was a beneficiary of the Making Spaces Child Care Initiative in 2009 and received grant dollars totalling $30,000.00. This money was put to work to provide a variety of classroom resources and together with the school, an addition to the playground. A dedicated ECS room was established. Both the playschool and kindergarten operate in this space.

Parent Committee members direct and manage the playschool to ensure smooth operation and quality programming. Staff are employed to conduct safe and enriching early childhood education through a love for children, ongoing training and professional development, and a Christian faith based philosophy. The playschool is operated under the umbrella of the Rimbey Christian School Society.

Our Philosophy:

We believe that children are a gift from God and that they will thrive in an environment where they feel safe and respected. Our aim is to encourage their development as individuals, each created in God’s image yet wonderfully different. We will do that through stories, songs, crafts, and stimulating playtime.  In each activity will be prepared such that they will meet each child’s developmental needs. Fingerprints Playschool will provide children who are 3-5 years of age with an age appropriate play based learning environment. Each class, the children will be stimulated socially, physically, and creatively through play experiences and opportunities set up and organized by the playschool staff.
