Village of Idiots - Spring Play Fundraiser - April 20 & 21

Rimbey Christian School invites you to come out to their Spring Play Fundraiser - Village of Idiots, with a cast of current students, alumni and school supporters. Village of Idiots tells the story of Yosef, a deserter from the Russian Army, who wanders into the Polish village of Chelm, where things don't seem quite right. Miriam tells him to wait and see, for true wisdom is not easily measured.  The "spine" of the play is Yosef's journey towards understanding the Chelmniks.  And if, like Yosef, you love stories, then, as Miriam tells him, you've come to the right village. Reserve your tickets by calling Maryan at (403)843-4790.  Tickets also available at Pharmasave or Value Drug Mart.

One School, One Book

RCS has launched an all school book club called One School, One Book.  Every family has received a copy of Robert C. Obrien's Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH and has been asked to read it at home over the month of January.  With the One School, One Book program, we aim to build a community of readers at our school.  Everyone - students, parents, teachers, and even administrative staff - will be participating, and we can all reap the many benefits.  Daily trivia questions will be asked every morning to encourage and reward attentive, aggressive listening.  At the end of every week there will be follow up activities based on the chapters that were read that week.  When everyone is involved in the same activity, there is a buzz of excitement around the school.
